Kalevela Angels: Loss and Light

The Davidson College Chamber Choir presents an innovative, mealtime series for the 2023–2024 season. These focused concerts are 20–30 minutes in length, promising you’ll still have time to grab a bite (and something to mull over while eating) before your next engagement or class. This series is free and open to the public. Please visit back soon for the locations.

First in our series, we offer Kalevala Angels: Loss and Light, a work for women’s chorus by Finnish fiddler and songwriter, Tellu Turkka. Enkelit is the harrowing and rapturing sung story of a woman that loses her child and through a fierce journey must face sorrow and find peace.
